Diwali is also called as Deepawali in South India. This is
the festival of lights, festival of Victory and festival of Prayers. The reason
to celebrate this festival is that, Lord Ram has returned to his kingdom after
14 years of banishment in to the forests and that day marks the beginning of
Hindu New Year.
This Deepawali, I went home and celebrated the fest at its best. As we four siblings do not support cracker since childhood, we celebrated Deepawali by lighting diyas. Instead of wasting so much money, energy, and creating Noise, and air pollution, we did Lakshmi Pooja, ate sweets and enjoyed all the five days Deepawali rituals. Here are few pics for you. Hope you too enjoyed a lot this Deepawali.
